OUR STRATEGY
SHAKTI has developed four interlinked and mutually reinforcing strategies to advance its Vision and Mission for the state's development. These strategies are designed to address the complex development challenges in the state and to accelerate progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. SHAKTI’s approach integrates robust community-level interventions with broader governance efforts through capacity building, research, collaborations, advocacy, and support for a vibrant civil society. Key cross-cutting themes, including information-backed advocacy, disaster risk reduction, and gender equality, are embedded throughout all strategic areas.
Strategic Objectives of SHAKTI
-
Building Sustainable Livelihoods: SHAKTI’s livelihood strategy is centered on ensuring household food and nutrition security while expanding income-generating opportunities for rural populations, particularly for tribal communities. This involves creating sustainable and diversified livelihood options to improve economic stability and quality of life.
-
Fostering Inclusive Governance: SHAKTI aims to enhance governance systems to better represent the voices of marginalized groups. By promoting transparency and accountability in democratic bodies and service delivery institutions, SHAKTI works to strengthen access to entitlements and rights for poor and marginalized communities, including women.
-
Reducing Disaster Vulnerability and Promoting Climate Change Adaptation: SHAKTI plays a pivotal role in disaster preparedness and response, focusing on innovative climate change adaptation practices. The organization seeks to reduce community vulnerability to natural disasters and enhance resilience through targeted interventions and research.
