Stories from the field
How often do we notice the women who quietly keep rural economies running?
They wake up before sunrise, care for their families, work in the fields, and look after livestock. Yet, their work often goes unnoticed. Parmila Mandangi is one of those women. Today, she leads a Self Help Group and runs a poultry enterprise in her village. But her journey isn't just about poultry farming. It's about believing that she could do something more—for herself, her family, and the women around her. What inspires me most isn't the number of birds she rears or the income she earns.
