Shakti Organisation, under the REWARD Project at Birsingrah MWP Burla, Sambalpur, has taken a meaningful initiative by facilitating the establishment of a vegetable cold storage facility to strengthen farmers' livelihoods and reduce post-harvest losses.

The facility was established with an estimated cost of ₹1,00,000. Supported by Selco Foundation, providing a safe and scientific storage solution for vegetables and enabling farmers to preserve the quality and freshness of their produce for a longer period.

This initiative helps 50 to 60 Farmers. It has reduced distress sales during peak harvest seasons and empowered farmers to sell their produce when market prices are more favorable, resulting in improved income and profitability. Through this intervention, Shakti Organisation has contributed significantly to improving market access, strengthening livelihood security, and enhancing the economic resilience of farming communities in the project.
