Shakti came to existence in the tribal dominated Rayagada district of Odisha in India in 1992 by a Group of dedicated dynamic young professionals. Shakti as a facilitating organization evolved to address the underlying causes of poverty, poor health care, literacy and various livelihood concerns. Focusing the local problems of shortfall in agriculture, education, health and socio-economic situation it has taken an integrated and innovative developmental approach to solve the problems of social and economic backwardness. The main concerns of the organization are to work as bridge between the needy and down trodden by enabling them to utilize the available resources. Ever since its inception, the organization has touched many frontiers and evolved itself as a full-fledged development agency both institutionally and programmatically
