About Shakti

The main thrust of Shakti organisation (SSCSO) has been to work as a bridge between the needy and backward people of the society and the society and the available resources for them. We have been taking attempts to reduce the margin of exploitation and deprivation by bringing about reasonable balance in the society

We place ourselves in the role of promoter of social welfare and justice through participatory efforts and planned approach to development. The basic work of the organization is “to help people to help themselves”. Our approach is based on people’s involvement in their own development through participation, decision making, planning, Implementation, Monitoring, evaluating, Managing and ownership of the entire process of development. Shakti focuses on enabling people to identify their own capacities, unfold their potentials for an appropriate intervention of action, based on indigenous knowledge, wisdom and skills.

We have been initiating long term goal oriented activities for sustainable development. Our commitments for the development goals comprise Livelihoods, functional literacy to tribal people, Women empowerments, Community health care, environment promotion, minor irrigation, Child rights and care of old persons.
